Artist in Residence, Vallauris, France
July-August 2006

During the summer of 2006, I was an artist-in-residence at A.I.R. Vallauris, in the south of France. Vallauris is located 15 minutes from Cannes, and 30 minutes from Nice. This region has long been a draw for artists, Matisse, Chagall, and Picasso being some of the biggies. Picasso spent time in Vallauris, a potters town, where he created his ceramic pieces. While I did a lot of painting during my time in France, I also created some ceramic pieces. You can see them in the photos from the exhibition I held at the end of my stay.
